The transport infrastructure in Germany is currently in need of major investment for renewal and repair. This makes monitoring methods, e.g. in road or railroad bridges, all the more important in order to initiate necessary repair measures in good time and thus extend the service life of the structure and also avoid stressful traffic situations. Klaus Faber AG is working with the Fraunhofer Institute for Nondestructive Testing IZFP on this project to establish automated, sensor-based inspection processes in such structures.
