The 8th edition of Germany's leading fair revolving around future-proof glass fibre took place on 27 and 28/03/2019 as FIBERDAYS19.

Approximately 3,000 trade visitors from Germany and abroad informed themselves about the subject of future-proof glass fibre from over 160 national and international exhibitors, took in additional highlights such as the Smart City Plaza and Civil Engineering Exchange Platform, and attended the over 100 trade seminars and workshops in great numbers.

Klaus Faber AG and ZTT were represented at the fair with a joint exhibition stand. "Two compact days with interesting exhibitors and visitors, combined with well-founded specialist presentations – the all-inclusive package makes this fair an ideal platform for Faber's and ZTT's distribution activities in the fibre optic cable segment", says Volker Schramm, FOC BU manager at Faber.

The cooperation between the two companies has been successfully serving the German FOC and FTTH market since 2017 in a winning combination of ZTT's product expertise with Faber's customer proximity and logistics services. The two companies can thus provide the quality and capacity required to help advance the broadband expansion in Germany and the surrounding countries: "The marketing of ZTT products in the fibre optic cable segment got off to a very good start in 2017 already and is set for growth. We are very satisfied with the current developments", comments Volker Schramm.

Faber meanwhile also contributed to the seminar programme with the presentation: "Gigabit network expansion in Germany: Is the globally required resource of glass fibre turning into 'gold dust'?!" Given the federal government's broadband funding programme and attendant higher demand for fibre optic cables, secure supplies are more important than ever for meeting the envisaged expansion targets.
