The success story of Klaus Faber AG, one of the top providers in the cable and wire industry for over 71 years, began in 1950. Originally founded as a wholesaler for lighting equipment and electrical appliances at the Saarbrücken location, the company continued to grow, evolving from a cable distributor into a successful system supplier. Today, Klaus Faber AG is very successfully offering system solutions for tunnel construction, broadband expansion, marine equipment and e-mobility, amongst others, as well as storage battery technologies in connection with regenerative energies.

"Its desire to grow and open itself to new attractive areas makes Klaus Faber AG a true Saarland beacon. Not least with the concepts for e-mobility and storage battery technologies in connection with regenerative energies, the company demonstrates that it has understood and picked up on the issues and tasks of the transformation. This way they not only actively help shape the future, but also contribute new, innovative ideas that make our Saarland economy so extraordinary overall“, says Economics Minister Anke Rehlinger.

The growth strategy has also been showing itself in the form of rising employee numbers for years, confronting the company with new challenges: the room for expansion at the site in Lebacher Strasse ran out. "Our current head office at Rastpfuhl has been bursting at the seams for a long time. We are all the more eagerly looking forward to the opening of our new company head office in Saarbrücken's Europaallee, where 4,600 square meters of office space and underground parking will offer room for circa 180 employees initially. The central location within easy reach of local public transport near Saarbrücken's main station is a stroke of luck, naturally", says Joachim Czabanski, Chairman of Klaus Faber AG.

The company's new head office benefits from optimal transport connections. Paris and Frankfurt, for example, are only 110 minutes away by direct Inter-City Express connection. Motorways in all directions are available in the immediate vicinity of the location, which is a popular meeting place for Franco-German business activities. Inter alia, a 240 square meter roof terrace was realized with an adjoining break room where the staff can take their lunch breaks. Office windows that reach down to the floor make for light-flooded rooms.

In keeping with the company philosophy, the building also scores with inner values such as an own data centre. Faber's latest fibre optic technology is put to use here. A heating/air-conditioning ceiling heats or cools the building, thereby contributing to a positive eco-balance along with the quadruple glazing and rainscreen. The interior lighting has been realized with the latest LED technology and a roof-top PV system ensures sustainable power generation. Nor was the topic of e-mobility neglected – in its basic version, the underground car park features 6 charging stations for e-cars/plug-in hybrids or also electric scooters. "The future of mobility is electrical, digital, autonomous, networked and climate-friendly", as Joachim Czabanski puts it. Klaus Faber AG has all-in-one e-mobility solutions in store for its clients, too – from the consultancy via the charging infrastructure through to local services.

All staff took up their work at the new company building in mid-September.
